A WETT inspection is a visual inspection of a wood burning appliance and its components. A typical WETT inspection includes many items including, clearances to combustible materials, checking for proper installation practices, unit condition and code compliance.
You can prepare for your WETT inspection by cleaning the appliance to be inspected and replacing any damaged or worn wear and tear items. Providing the inspector with as much clear access to the unit as possible is helpful.
WETT inspections should be performed annually if wood burning units are used regularly.
